    Prince Harry in Afghanistan.

It's a shame someone decided to make a quid by spilling the beans early.

    Good for him, though.

Then should the warlike Harry, like himself,
Assume the port of Mars; and at his heels,
Leash'd in like hounds, should famine, sword and fire
    Crouch for employment.

Don't all of the men in the unit have the name "Windsor" on their nametags so that no one can single out the real Windsor?

I think it's fantastic that he's serving there. He wanted to be there with his soldiers and he deserves to be.
It is a shame that his unit will be targeted, but the way I see it is that the soldiers are being targeted anyway. They are good soldiers and I believe they will work well under the extra pressure.

Not sure about the nametag thing, though.

This reminds me of his uncle, the Duke of York, who served in the Falklands. At one point Prince Andrew was flying SAR missions and serving as an Excocet missle decoy!

Good for him, but you are right Arlen, it is a shame that this was leaked.

I've not much use for celebrities, but I'll credit the young man (and his uncle) for serving the crown his grandmother wears.
Like most veterans & service members I have mixed emotions about the media. I feel that this is an instance of scoop & money over sense & courtesy.
I wish the young man a good tour.

I hope they catch the person who leaked it to the press, and charge them with treason. It's the least they deserve.

Interesting beans... I was glad to read his words in that artical, though. What he said was very interesting, I don't really care about the bean spilling part.

    * I should clarify, the leak is for others to deal with, and when the beans have been spilled, there is no way to un-spill them. I do care about the general savageness of the press leaking these kinds of things, but what the Prince said in this artical has made the best of the bad bean spill situation. Sorry if what I said at first sounded rude.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I kinda feel the same way. But it was likely foreign press who leaked it and decided to let it out early, so it wouldn't quite be treason.

I just feel a bit like... They have put the lives of these young soldiers at further risk than they are already taking on so that they can get the first public story.
And that makes me very sad.
