    Re: Celebrating! Distinguished Service Medal

    Congratulations Harold!
I had the privilege of working with both paid and unpaid firefighters for most of my career in Public Works and there are no finer people. They are dedicated to preparing themselves to face the tricky and dangerous work of entering unknown territory to save the lives and property of others.

Thanks for preparing them for their work.

Congratulations for the recognition of important service. All too often such work is overlooked. Afterall, training and preparation are not sexy or flashy. But that's what makes it work when the rubber hits the road.

Good show. We are pround to have you amang our little band of miscreants.

Congratulations on having received this very public recognition of your service to your fire department and your community. While you will undoubtedly wear the Distinguished Service Medal with pride, I know that you will actually accept this honour with the humility that is the hallmark of a true gentleman. Well done Harold.

From one newly minted volunteer fire fighter I can not express how important those whom have helped with my training were to getting to where I am. For all those that you have taken part in their training I am sure I can tell you how greatly appreciated that kind of work is. Congratulations to you on something I am sure very well deserved.
