Mine early yesterday eve was from a new bottle of Glenmorangie Companta, the latest of their Private reserve collection, only a modest draw from the freshly opened bottle while I awaited the cable guy to finish upgrading and the fixing (several times) my internet and cable TV set up. So I lingered over it for more than an hour. It is somewhat fruity but more spicy with some bite on the mid tongue and the roof of the mouth, with a slightly hot but still smooth finish. This particular malt is aged originally in brand new american Oak hand picked from the southern Missouri and northern Arkansas Ozark mountains, then finished in french Grand Crue and another french table wine cask from specific vineyards. Not as fruity as the madeira and portwood and sherry wood secondary finishings but still nice, and unique from its brethren. It has similarities to the other Ozark new oak aged Ealanta from the Glenmorangie stable, but with a bit more fruity wine overtones.

That's about what it costs in the U.S. At K&L in San Francisco it is $66. I'll leave the currency translation as an exercise for the reader. It is a fine malt, though a wee bit peaty for my tastes.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

I'm still working on the Balvenie in my decanter. I had a dram the other evening while my fiance and I watched "Outlander". I think I have 3 fingers left; and when that is freed, I will begin the Glenlivet.

Aye! Funny how things go. I just poured a wee dram of Caol Ila, and sat down to see what was up with XMTS!

    Cheers!

Now that's hard to beat, ... on both counts.
