I don't know of any first had but I'd suggest consulting somebody from one of the local pipe bands to find out if they have a trusted...I cannot emphasize that word enough: TRUSTED...cleaner that can oblige you. Someone who doesn't have extensive experience with kilts could screw it up past the point of no return.

The only real piper that I know personally is our Greg (Beloitpiper) and he dwells mostly up above the Wisc/Ill border.

Maybe contact someone from Stock Yards Kilty Band...

...or any of the others to ask for help.

You could ask the folks at The Scottish Shop in Summit Illinois. They would likely know of somewhere in the area that knows how to properly handle a kilt.

If you do a complete basting of the pleats yourself, then any good dry cleaner should do. Check out the Tutorials & How-To's section for a couple articles on how to do this. For example, take a look at:

With all due respect, I'd try a few more options before I went to the Scottish Shop.

I've been there...PM me if you need any more info...

I know it's a few months since your post. I find myself in need of having my kilts pressed and I wonder what solution you found.
