2 Arctic Fox Sporrans

Recently I picked up some arctic fox pelts for a rather good price. I decided I would give a shot a making them into a sporran. I decided to make two different ones, since the pelt was so large. I decided on a formal sporran with cantle and a semi/formal with a leather flap (my personal favorite). This pelt was much more difficult to work with than a red fox or silver fox pelt. The fur is extremely thick and wants to "poof" in every direction. It took me quite sometime to get these to work right. I am still trying to get the magnet on the leather flap sporran to hold well (fur is too thick, but I have some ideas). I really like the black and white colors with the semi-formal. Let me know what you think.

They look good, but you might want to try shearing / sculpting the fur around the closures. I agree about the contrast of the black on the white. Well done, sir.

They look beautiful. I agree that a bit of trimming might improve them. You might PM Turpin for advice on this. He did a great badger sporran for me and I know he does some judicious trimming.

I love them, they look great. Could you post a picture of the back of the silver cantled sporran? I'm trying to figure out how to make one in that style!

I love them just they way they are. You did a great job!
I personaly, would want to "Thin" them as i see fit, as the buyer.
I like the "explosive fur"
I figure it will "mold" on it's own. Great job. Thanks for the pix Teri
