    About to start a kilt!!!!

Well, after reading and re-reading barb's book I think I am finally ready to try my hand at making a kilt.
I just got 10 metres (Alllllllmost 10 yards) of Black Watch PV amd it should be delivered in two days time.

Once it's here I'm going to start work on a kilt for a friend of mine.
He's been with the US coast Guard for a few years now and is just finishing up a bit of service in the Middle east.
So here's hoping he'll have his first ever kilt to come home to.
If all goes well, I'll make a matching kilt for his baby son.

I'll post pictures on the progress as it goes.

Go Arlen go! It's like running over a mountain. It gets easier about halfway through.
Cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant never taste of death but once. Of all the wonders I yet have heard, it seems to me most strange that men should fear; seeing that death, a necessary end, will come when it will come. --William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Best of luck, Arlen. Black Watch is a lovely tartan, though your eyes will eventually hurt trying to find the little black lines! Unless you pleat it to the large black stripe within the green.

    Arlen,
If I can pick up a needle for the first time in my life and then use it to make a kilt, then anybody can do it. You know that if you have any questions, we are all willing to give our advice... You will have to decide if it is good or bad advice. Of course, Barb T. is the one we all look up to.
