ALERT, ALERT! Fraser and Kirkbright has Loud MacLeod

    http://www.wooltartan.com/

Fraser and Kirkbright has five meters of thirteen ounce "Loud Macleod" wool tartan on sale in their Remnants for a lousy $25 a meter.

So all you MacLeods That have thought about making a kilt, here's your chance.

I've been pondering that fabric since a week ago when it first appeared. After reading Barb's book, I have been looking for fabric to purchase to attempt the kilt.... If one of you kind souls would buy this, then I can resist the temptation!

    That's a pretty good price.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

I just picked it up. Thanks for the heads up. I hadn't checked in a while.

Argh! They have not updated their page since you got it. I was just going through their Paypal page to get it and wanted to post here that it was to be mine! And someone beat me!

O'Neille, if you were not such a nice guy, I'd be thinking very unpleasant thoughts at you right now.

I was planning to make a couple of 4-yard kilts for me (one box pleat, one knife pleat) and a set of trousers for my wife, who has wanted pants in that tartan for over a year. My tank is a Hunting MacLeod tartan and I wanted another kilt (or two) in the dress tartan.

    Maybe another time.

    Grump, grump.

Congrats on getting it, though. Shows very good taste. At least post a pic of the finished project so we can see how good it looks on you.

And now there is some 16 oz. Maple Leaf. Less 4 meters now. This winters sewing should be fun.

A big hug and hearty buss to Alan H!

I purchased some of that Dress Saskatchewan for a truly gobsmacking price of $23/m! All thanks to the link you posted.

While I'm fixed for dance kilts (Dress Eildon-me; Christina Young-daughter) I found the process of making a kilt very restful. I'm going to make it up as if it was for me and then sell it. Hopefully, making a tidy profit. After all, my dance group is going to Scotland next summer!
