    Box Pleated Black Stewart

Here are a few pictures of my newest kilt.

I didn't know what the tartan was when I bought it, I just really liked the colors in it.
I have since been told it is Black Stewart.

This is the Poly/Rayon stuff from Joann's.
Not real heavy, but oh so soft, I really like the way it feels.
This is the first tartan kilt I have made for myself.
I think I will be making me some more after wearing this one.

Planning on making a pleated sporran to go with this.

I box pleated it to the set.
I am pretty happy with how it came out, considering it is only the second time I have messed with a tartan, and my first box pleat.

    Band is attached with velcro.
I wasn't ready to tackle adding straps yet, thinking I will order some and try to make a much more traditional one next time.

    On to the pics...

That kilt look really good Wolfgore! Well done.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

I love that tartan and it's nice to finally see it in a box pleat

I stared at that fabric long and hard and I still might to back for a few yards. It's only $7 a yard, and 30% off of that. It's awfully lightweight, but what the heck. They only had the enough left in the gray plaid, but that looks pretty sharp, too.

Hey looks great, I too made a box pleat in that fabric. It was my first DIY. Looks great, don't worry about straps, they are not as hard as one might think. If I can make them anyone can. Keep up the great work.

Not trying to to be picky, but it looks like you sewed the fell down a wee bit too far. Am I just seeing things there?
