Celtic Dog Kilt Pin

I just finished this one this afternoon. It was an idea from a friend of mine on Facebook. He wanted a kilt pin to go with kilt that he will be getting soon.
Anyway...TO THE PICS!!!

Roughly how long does it take you to make one of these?

What kind of wood did you use?

Sadly, I have no idea. I was sent a box of scrap wood from Drac and he did provide a list of what scraps he sent, but I misplaced it, so it is left to the imagination, or to someone better at identifying wood than I. Thanks for all of the kind words!
