I don't have a problem with non-traditional styles, especially if they are functional and also looks good.

Has anyone ever seen such a kilt elsewhere on the web, i.e., a reverse knife-pleated kilt? If not, then I put first dibs on it. LOL

I keep coming back and looking at the photos again - these things bother me.

It appears that the pleats are open to the left - not the right?

That is when the kilt is viewed from the right side, as worn.

Easier to keep the pleats smooth when getting into a left hand drive car - but not the traditional way to turn them.

The kilt looks really sharp, very neat - love the pleat shot - but why that way round?

Reversed or forward, it is a very nice looking kilt. Nicely done.

Reversing the pleats for a left hand drive car, not a bad idea. I won't drive kilted in America for that reason, no problems with the pleats here in Scotland with the right hand drive. Maybe you should patent the idea....

Perhaps perplexed would have been more exact - having noticed it, and then checked to make sure, and looked at again and read the messages about it the thought 'Why he do that that way?' remained unanswered, so I just had to ask.

And now I know.

One way to keep the pleats neat when getting into a car is to take a piece of silk, satin, Rayon, Cire - anything slippery, large enough to cover the pleats and wrap it around your rear fairly tightly just before sliding into the seat. When you get out just slide, collecting up the fabric and leaving it in the door pocket handy for next time.

Thank you all. Well, it works well for drivers in left-handed cars; OR for passengers in right-handed cars. So UK kilt-wearers can make use of a "reverse-knife" pleated kilts, yes?
