you know I made a maille shirt one year for holloween. it was a 4-1 euro shirt out of 12gauge 1inch rings. took me about 4 hours to make the entire shirt.
big rings make it go much better. (I had also been mailling for 3 years at this time)
looking good though

18ga 1/2? what kind of wire? you sure that will hold up. I sometimes have trouble with 18ga 5/16.

This is really, really nice!

Last year in grade 11 I realize having a suit of chainmail finished for halloween was going to be impossible since I only had a week. So I went with the next best thing... Duct tape.

A year later with only 3 weeks till Halloween I realize that I swore in grade 9 that I would have a suit of chainmail done by grade 12 halloween... yah well 3 weeks is kinda really really really tight for a suit so I started working on it with... 1/4mile of wire, a pair of needle nose plyers and wire cutters. by the end of the 1st week my friend made me spend over $100 in new equiptment and wire. after another week of experimenting he managed to make all the wire into coils... I cut most of them into rings and I worked away for 4 days for about 12 hours a day and then the last 3 days with no sleep and only not working on it when I was in class. finaly on the last day at 6:45 I was done a big enough portion to wear it decently... and thats how I got into the whole chainmail thing but it went nicely with the outfit.

I noticed the second link did not work but I think it will now, the file extension was missing, this should work:

to Splash: Thanks that is my first project containing 2 different metals and my 2nd attempt with copper.
to McMurdo: Thanks for that correction

A duck tape suit of armor! That's really cool Scott. Just goes to show the limitless creative possibilities of duct tape.
