Re: Is "demi-flyplaid" a word?
Neat idea. I just wrap a tartan scarf (a la old school pilots) and let it fly! Happy kilting and happy biking (I assume you don't do both at once .

To answer your question: no, "demi-flyplaid" is not a word, but "scarf" is!

LOL.. I sported a scarf once and it was a sloshy winter morning. By the time I got 30 miles or so down the interstate I had a scarf about 18 feet long. Just a heads up.. scarfs on a bike over say 65 seems to stretch em' out.

I gotta say, cracks majestically at 90.
Let's see how long it lives.
I saw this in a cartoon once, but I think I can pull it off.

Yes, I would reserve final judgement until seeing how it flies on the road, but I appreciate your intent. I would especially wonder if the front part wouldn't fly up and over.
On a little more minimal side, in an attempt to have some tartan on the upper body, I made a pair of epaulets like some pipe bands use (circlets of tartan slipped over the shirt epaulet) from tartan scraps. However, not being in a band, I have seldom used them. You have inspired me tho' and I think I will make a larger pair to fit my cycle jacket.
