Dip and Snuff Spoon
This is a little off topic for kilt accessories, except for those of us who dip.
I partake only on occasion: when faced with a dusty, dirty, or strenuous outdoor task, or when I have to tackle an especially odiferous task (like skinning the fresh-dead road-kill alligator that I got last week- but that is another story).
A dipper must wipe his fingers on something handy, like either a Kleenex, or his kilt.
Well, yesterday I got to thinking: why wouldn't a spoon do the job?
I made this spoon from red brass, 2 inches long:
He makes items, all handwrought; Combinations of metal, stone, and thought; Symbols and history that certainly ought; Be worn by any well-dressed Scot. Carol, 2009

It looks very similar to the one that I remember my great-grandmother using. It would have been cool to have kept it after she passed, but I found her hand-cranked coffee-grinder more appealing. I remember the end of the spoon had such a curl to it, too.

Fanfriggentastic! What an idea, I may try some from hardwood, to go with my other spoon carvings.
Thanks

This is why, when I can't smoke, I prefer snus over dip. No messy fingers, no spitting.
Great looking spoon, though! I can't say as I've ever seen a fellow put dip in his mouth with a spoon. That's surely an entertaining sight.

Great now I'm inspired to make a Bone snuff spoon and a horn snuff-mull!
Like I really need anymore projects
