    DIY Dirk

    This started life as an $18 regimental pipers dirk. With a little time and work this is what it became. Sorry for the pictures. I used my cell phone to take them.

    Well.....

    I sanded the plating off of the brass parts.

    I shortened the handle and sanded it smooth except for the deepest grooves.

    Made the plate and knob for the top.

    Stained it and replaced the silver tacks with brass ones.

    Recovered the sheath.

    I think that was everything.
