    DIY - MacDonald Box Pleat Kilt

    It's been a couple of years since I made myself a kilt, with the 2 yards double width 13 oz fabric on the shelf from the STM at $115.... hard to pass up.

    I have sewn all pleats and aprons at this point.

    with the exception of the buckles,I made the fastening from scratch too







    this is my inner canvas work, this is how I like it



    I use a green lining and all the fastening is complete

    To my eye, this one may have come out even better than the other one of yours that I've seen, and it was really excelent! I mean, the hang looks pristine, lines in the back are nice and straight, fit is obviously right on, etc, etc... Impressed doesn't cut it.


    ...you just got me thinking. A dangerous thing, to be sure.

    P.S. I love the blackout look. It's certainly one of my own favorites, too.
