Do beer and kilts mix?

Here are some pics of a project I started this afternoon, I know the proper way to go about making a kilt is probably not the way I go about it. All I lack is the waistband and loops. I figure about 2 beers will do it...This is my first attempt at a tartan, and it is very difficult to line up the pattern while sewing the pleats(Beer or no beer). Well anyhow here is my Saturday night...

Actually it did not show up in the photo but there is a thin yellow and white side by side that it is pleated to. I did not want to take a picture that close, you would see how the pattern on the pleats in a couple of places didn't line up. This is a tough room.
