    Feeling Lucky? My second sporran

Today I finished up my second sporran. I call it my feelin lucky sporran because rather than tassels I used rabbits feet. The fur is rabbit fur as well. Completely hand stitched. I have to say I am pretty happy with how it came out.

Well, you should be pretty happy - it looks great and the sporran belt is stunning as well. In fact you should do a separate tread on the construction of the belt.

That does look nice. Any lessons learned that you wish to share?

Nicely done! I like the braided sporran belt too.

Where did you find the closure clasp?

    Nice

Well done sir! I am always impressed by people's crafty handiwork skills, because I have none!

I too like the looks of the sporran belt, but am concerned of the effects of it on the kilt over time. I would be fearful of it acting like a wide leather chain or rasp on the material. Any thoughts?

Excellent! I love the braided edges. I did the same on one of my dress sporrans. The edge braiding isn't a European thing- it gives a nice American flair to a sporran, which being an American of Scots ancestry, I really like. Good job on that! I hate working with rabbit fur because if sheds so much, so hats off to you for doing it! And may I ask where you got the rabbits feet? I'm wanting to do that exact same thing in the New Year and hadn't taken the time to look for them.

I was going to check Oriental Trading Company catalog; but found this link first. First entry has them for 99 cents each.
