First X-Kilt Production

Ok, I finally got time to get the pictures off the camera and onto the laptop. I've been too busy making kilts. Six of them so far in the last four weeks.

Allan H,

Once again, thank you so much for the plans and instructions for these.

Well here is goes:

This is where I've tapered the fell pleats.

Here is the inside of the kilt, you can see the internal pleat spacing. The waistband may look a little different than the instructions. I make mine deeper on the inside of the kilt so I can machine stitch where it will be hidden under the belt, it also helps to reinforce the pleats.

Here is the outside of the kilt. You can see the second line of stitching that will be hidden by the belt. I also add the belt loops when I stitch the waistband to the front of the kilt, it saves a step and, to me, it looks better.

Here is a picture of the pocket I added to the under apron.

A closer look at the pocket.

Finally a picture of me wearing it. I still need to get a good picture of the pleats.

For my first one, I think it came out well. I learned a lot too.

I like those pockets too. They really blend in with the design of the kilt.

Pleats

I found this picture of the pleats. I'm actually working on the next kilt while I was wearing the first.
