    glue

A question for our esteemed DIYers: I came across some pieces of antler that aren't good for much accept I though I would try to make a few kilt pins from the tips. My question is what is the best glue to use to affix the pin to the antler as well as a stone to the top of the pin. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have found that Gorilla Glue 2 part epoxy is nearly indestructable.

Any good two part epoxy, but make sure that the antler and stone are roughened with a coarse sandpaper for a good key.

Jewelers glue might also work, but you can't go wrong with the 2 part epoxy.

Another vote here for 2 part epoxy for antler work, or just about anything else except certain plastics. Gorilla Glue itself is an excellent adhesive (friend of mine says you could use it to glue slime to snot), but it expands during the cure and can leave some problematic clean up.
When I use antler for sgian dubh handles, I use molten pewter (lead free) to secure the blade.

Another endorsement for epoxy. I've use it for my dirks and sgians. They held up nicely and I've bonded wood and metal to the antler. I have some examples in my WMD's album.
    Good luck,
    Scott

Thank you one and all. Looks like 2 part epoxy will do the trick.
