I've run into some minor problems with the initial kilt pin I made, specifically, the magnets inside the fabric kept falling off. Aparently, I (at least partially) demagnetized the neodynim magnet when I soldered it on, and the copper wire of the coil was keeping the magnet from grabbing the ferrite rod effectively. I made #2 from about 2ft of 14 gauge solid steel galvanized wire. Size is about the same as the first. This one, the magnets grab the antenna and ground quite well, I shouldn't have an issue of loosing one of the backing magnets with this one.
