Kilted guys tend to be a bit more flashy in the choices of clothes..... I have some really fancy hose that I really like, of course, I don't wear them with a T-shirt.

I, too, got a chuckle from String's "wondered if that would be too much for a guy to wear."
Let me get this straight: She's sitting in a room full of guys who wear kilts, mostly tartan kilts, and wondering about a design on the hose.  Stringthing, we love you for many reasons, not least for keeping us entertained.
Speaking as a guy whose first sock-knitting project was a pair of baby-blue knee socks, I say: All of the above!
Lace, anyone?

I'm actually eyeing that pair of lacey hose on the front on Veronica Gainford's "Designs for knitting Kilt Hose and Knickerbocker Stockings" 1995 edition by Schoolhouse Press.
That's certainly a guy's leg that they are modeled on. (And, no BB, those aren't yours).

I've laways been an understated guy, myself, so I'm afraid I'd have to stick with a pair of "plain" hose (assuming they were hand crafted, like the other choices would be). I'm not much on the "bling", either. I still don't own a waistplate buckle, and probably never will. If I'm putting on a jacket, I'm putting on a waistcoat, too... old-school style.

Hmm. . . lacey hose. . . .I dont think i could pull them off but I might try. . . LOL. I will be getting that color sample from the kilt mailed out tomorrow!
