Jacket Coversion To Go with new black X-Kilt

My $7.00 find at the Good Will. A black sportcoat to dress up the new black x-kilt for the date with my wife on May 9th. Cutting it off, hemming it at the chalk line, and taking it in just a little on the sides should make it look nice.

The X-Kilts can be very stylish when your all decked out. Thanks Alan H.

You really did a good job on your X-Kilt. It drapes really well.

OK, so when are you going to do the next one? and when's the first tartan kilt?

I ordered some polyester rayon tartan (reasonable facsimile) on sale at Joann's Fabrics in Galesburg, IL. I'm picking it up tomorrow night. I'm going to pleat it to the stripe and hand sew it, following TAOK book instructions. I'll post some pics of the material and a few pics of the kilt as it materializes.
If it turns out as nice as I hope, I'm going to get some P/V tartan from Celtic Croft. But, before i start that, I've got to sneak in a brown x-kilt and a brown rev-k kilt between the jacket conversion and the tartan. Needless to say, my wife is feeling a little left out.....hence the black jacket, black kilt, and dinner on May 9th @ the country club.

Saturday plan on getting jacket done, bowtie and cumberbund also. When I get all the parts together We'll see if the dress belt,or the cumberbund makes the cut. The Economy Chromed Cantled Sporran got a good review from XMTS, so I'm ordering one from Celtic Croft. Now if my wife can find the red dress she is looking for, It will be a great WEEKEND.
