    Kilt Pin

Decided to try my hand at turning a basic kilt pin out of a piece of white ebony I had laying around. Here is what I came up with...

Next time around I may try and get fancy with it.

    Thanks for the inspiration!

On the next one I plan to remove that large hunk of plastic over the pin and use epoxy and small brass screws to hold it to the wood. For now, as a learning project, I'm happy with the results.

I just use 5" epoxy for the several I've made. So far no problems with them coming loose.

It looks pretty good. I like the different and original designs for kilt pins. It gives the wearer some individuality...not that the kilt doesn't already do that, unless you are with a rabble of kilties.

I would recess the pin into the wood a little to keep it from flopping side to side.

I had actually thought of that after all was said and done so next one will be milled to accommodate that change.
