    Kilthose KAL Pattern 2

I have started on the writing of the 2nd pair of kilt hose or kilt socks, for our KILTHOSEKAL number 2,this pair is a cable design and the cable is running down the front of the sock, photos can be seen on my new blog dedicated to kilt socks, As before I will be putting the pair I knit up for a contest, all you have to do is leave a comment starting from today 4/29/09 on my post and I will enter your name into the contest, Kerr the Walker won the last pair.... You can let me know what you think about these so far.

I like the cable design on the front, but I wouldn't want it on the tops too. It looks too much like a girls knee sock to my eyes. Possibly the cuff of the first pattern and the leg of the cabled pattern would be better. It looks to me the knitting is top notch.

IMHO, I like the cable knit on the cuff, Not only makes the cuff fuller, but "classier"

    KEEP on KNITTING

    Splendid!

Absolutely Smashing in my humble opinion! Knit on! The cable pattern is great.

Have you seen the double Helix dna knit pattern?? It looks like the cable knit, but with the double helix in the place of the knot pattern. I just saw it in a magazine that I have subscription to (on a totally different subject than knitting).

I do remember my gran knitting the cables on the top and then following on down the leg although it was the side she had the cables on, but I'm being lazy and doing it down the front so that each sock will be the same to knit for all you out there.. would probably look more manly in darker colours? Reason for knitting in the cream for the moment is to get the pattern showing up in photos.

That is some impressive knitting. The cable design looks great.

I prefer darker colors but I don't have any reservations about wearing cream
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear
