    Late Christmas Present

Today I got a late Christmas present!

Several months ago, a wood-carving friend expressed interest in sgian dubhs, and asked for some examples. So, I went on line and downloaded many images of different sgian dubhs. I gave him the print-outs, and promptly forgot about it.

Today, I was at his house to assist in another project and he presented me with the handle and asked if I had a blade for it. Well, what do you know? – I did.

Below is the blade before I epoxy it together. Pretty!

Sounds cool. Hope it all goes together well.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Very nice carving. You're getting quite the collection.
Cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant never taste of death but once. Of all the wonders I yet have heard, it seems to me most strange that men should fear; seeing that death, a necessary end, will come when it will come. --William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar

Very nice. It's good to have a friend that will reward you with a nice piece like that. You'll have to invite him over for some good single malt as a reward to him.
