    me playing dress-up

I decided I needed a Balmoral to wear with my oft-mentioned Carolina kilt, so I made one. For anyone who cares, it was made with Paton's "Classic Wool" and felted in the washing machine. Here's the dicing:

    Here's the toorie:

Here it is on the floor:

And here it is on my cabeza:

This jacket is a converted thrift-shop find. The vest is from newjerseypiper.com I added dogwood buttons to it and to the jacket. I made the hose about a month ago and wore them for the first time to the Loch Norman Games.

This is yours truly in my MacDougall on top of Mt. Brushmore. It's a pile of stumps and brush at the edge of my yard that I covered with mulch and planted flowers on. I made the hose over the winter, and made the brown bonnet last week. Note the official plant badge.

The MacDougall is a very wide sett, so when Prof. Newsome box-pleated it, he had to be creative:

And, finally, my Lockhart (Newsome #9) and my new Hawaiian shirt at my fort. The sporran was made by Tom (A_Hay!) about a year ago. That's Mt. Brushmore in the background.

That's a "Juan Felipe" rose bush in front of me. MY wife's family have grown this rose, and transplanted cuttings/rootings of it, for the past 150 years or so. We call it the "Grandpa Rose".

    That's all, folks.

I didn't set a timer, but the best I remember, about 4 hours, not counting felting and drying time.

Cool! Like the Mt. Brushmore idea. Congratulations on the heirloom rose.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Wow. That is a great bonnet. Can you share the pattern? I would love to give that a try.
