    Media player carrier

So I had an 18" X 24" piece of Irish National tartan in acrylic from my recent retailoring adventure. I also had the media player that I got for Christmas from my folks that was getting a scratched screen from getting shoved into coat pocket or sporran...

I made a carrier for one out of the other. Velcro closure, Neck strap sewn out of the tartan, internal pocket that keeps the media player separate from the headphones.

Will post pics when I can steal my wife's camera, mine has gone AWOL.

    Thanks guys.

Jay, I can think of a nice way to do placemats. Our local Wal-Mart fabric and crafts section sells a sturdy clear vinyl material. I would cut the tartan into the desired shape, leaving seam allowances, and then sew a piece of the vinyl material on either side using clear mono filament quilting thread. If you had enough of the material, I would think that cutting it so that the pattern was on the bias as you faced it at your table would be quite nice. Great idea, Jay!
