    Mini Sgian Dubh Fun

I went back to work today and couldn't get this out of my head. I saw a few miniatures on another forum and got a little obsessed. I got out my tiny torch and went to town on an old heavy circular sawblade. Got it workable and shaped then headed inside to finish up in the warmth of the house and my silver bench.

It is hardened and tempered, baleen, pewter and walrus ivory.

    1/2 oz, 13g.
    2 7/8", 74mm total
    1 9/16, 40mm blade
    1/2", 12mm width
    1.3mm thick

    The components

This little guy gave up a couple legs for the project. I didn't want to make a mold and cast spacers just for this little knife.

Ready for a lot of hand sanding and polishing.

I've still got a little fine shining and final sharpening to accomplish.

And here it is polished and sharpened. I've got a little bald spot on my arm.

Very cool. Are you displaying it on a X-marks pleat cut out? If so that really shows the scale great.
    What a work of art!

That is a pleat cut out. I'm working on a couple hours sleep. Don't look at the posting time of that picture. My caffeinated New Year got me out of whack.

Nice work as always - on a side note, it's good to see someone else with messy fingers...
