    My DIY Sporrans

Here are my own personal sporrans all but the tooled leather one are DIY sporrans. The tooled one is a purse that I am looking to convert to a sporran.

    Harold,

Very Nice! I like your handmade versions so much better than the tooled purse, particularly the buff-colored leather one. Well done!

Some seriously good work there, Harold. I like the diversity - all so different from each other.

    Regards

I try to make them all unique I have about 6 or 7 more on the work pile right now. I got into leatherwork as a scout. I was the woodcarving instructor at Comer Scout Reservation in Mentone Alabama for three years. Our handicrafts director made us certify in every class though so we were all profecient in every handicraft merit badge. Then in my junior year of high school I became very interested in my heritage and even became the bass player for our local bagpipe band Glen-A-Star Pipes and Drums. I needed a sporran and couldnt afford one so I made myself one. Sadly I dont have it anymore but thats how I started all this. My great grandfather taught me how to do wood working at a very young age and he was a firm believer in making what you wanted. He said that way you get what you want and not what someone else decided to make.
