    Well done!I wish I was that cleaver.I notice that you have 4 buttons on the cuffs and a button on the breast pocket,I have not seen that before.

    That's how many buttons of that color m,y husband made, so I used them. The wearer can take them off if he wants. I usually do the three on the sleeve and none on the pocket.

    Could you tell me what changes are made on a jacket to make a kilt jacket? Besides the very nice details you have put on this particular jacket, what are the basic changes?

    Is it shortened? What about the Sporran cut out?

    Any info would be great. Or if you could direct me to a past thread that would answer my questions.
    I'm a kilt newbee and piper.

    Yes, you cute away a rounded front and about 4 inches along the bottom. Basically, from just on top of the second button, to 4 inches above the bottoms, cut a nice curve. There are several excellent instructions on this site. Go to DIY, kilt jacket conversion.
