My new DIY Canvas Kilt

Left pockets contents: wallet in a holster and nametape and bloodtape.

Unlike Warlocks, I used Mil-Spec webbing on mine where I could. Harder on the machine but I had it on hand.

MOLLE belt. Completely hidden under the Kilt belt

This picture best demonstrates the belts workings. There are 2 rows of 1" webbing sewn down every 1 1/2" onto a 2" piece. That is in turn sewn down to the kilt every other stitch column (3") allowing for larger attachment methods other than MOLLE/PALS. Such as this 2" wide cell phone pouch I made.

Here's showing that the belt goes all around except for the aprons.

Kilt pin goes through a sacrifice piece of velcro then just presses onto the loop panel. No more holes!

Behind the loop panel is my "Custom made for" tag and you can see the logo side of the hang tag on the bottom edge of the under apron pocket.

The flashes both have Crisis pockets as well. Just enough to hold a challenge coin or some extra cash

It looks great though the term 'needlepimp' might keep grandparents from rushing out to get their grandson one. But what the heck, grandma's aren't really buying that many kilts anyways.

I tried to find a name that had military meaning as well as be familiar to Punk/Goth/and various "alternatives."

I wanna make a womans version with a section in the back that looks like a corset that can either have ribbon or lace laced through it, or using Chicago screws or spikes, have strips of leather w/ buckles for a harder look.

Sharp work. I imagine the mil-spec webbing was a bugger to sew through.

Side note: I knew I wasn't the only one to put bloodtapes on non-Mil-issue gear! (got mine on my motorcycle jacket)

The canvas wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Granted I just finished working with ripstop so pretty much anything was gonna fall short after that for this type of design.
I suggest a good wash of the fabric BEFORE cutting it just to loosen it up if anything. After that it irons well and after taken it out last weekend, I can attest first hand to the excellent way the pleats kept up after several hour long car rides and various types of seats (Booth, chair, barstool) so I say "Go for it!"
