    Need Leather

Very shortly we will have a new sewing machine capable of sewing leather. Now all I need is a source of reasonably priced leather. Anyone have any suggestions?

I was just about to suggest The Leather Factory, when I discovered that Tandy bought them. Man, what else have I missed in recent years?

I've looked at Tandy. Anything else out there?

If you hunt, WB Place does good work at tanning leather -- see their website for details.

Check out Distant Drums, a vendor on ebay, and Kentucky Leather and Hide . both have good deer and elk hides and good prices. If you are making a Rob Roy sporran, go for a 3-4 oz. thickness

There's some problem with Kentucky leather and hide's website. They have a lot of broken links and images. None of the prices or descriptions are showing up, just the pictures of the leather.
