I like the effect of the blue fabric behind the black. Well done.
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

It seems you try it very early in the morning, just after finish it (dark).
Interesting sporran.
How do you make two-colored kilt? Are you sew the stripes of two fabric?

Actually it was about 10 at night when the pictures were taken.
The colored pleats are sewn into the material where I will be pleating it.
The inserts go just up to the bottom of the fell line.
It is kind of a pain, and a lot of extra work, but I really like the looks of it and am pretty happy with how this one turned out.

Yes, I agree that is a awsome kilt.
I would like 'a how to' on this one as I have my own ideas (flames).
But for the grace of God go I.

Sweet! A kilt like that would look really cool in a sports teams colors ..... in say, Flyers orange and black? Black Kilt and Orange inserts with a team logo for a kilt pin ... now that would work.

As his corse to the rampart we hurried,
Not a soldier discharged his farewell shot,
O'er the grave where our hero we buried."
