    Old butcher knife blade to sgian dubh?

    What do you think? an old wood handle butcher knife shaped out to a sgian dubh. Changing out the handle mind you.

    You may have to search for it but someone did take a chef's knife and did a DIY project where they cut the blade down to sghian dhub proportions and slapped a handle on it...I'm trying to search but getting error messages.

    If there is a sgian blade in there you can find it. Remember you might need to anneal the blade before working it and then harden and temper.

    I have a chef's knife blade that was broken off and reshaped waiting to be finished into a sgian right now.

    Raptor is the guy who did the sgian dubh from a larger knife, and I bought it, here are some photos

    Hmm, I have done the same thing with a chefs knife but raptors workmanship owns mine one hundred times over. It can be done and it is fun and rewarding to turn something ordinary into something beautiful.
