    Pins for cthulu tartan

Made a few kilts pins for myself and Celt_Gravity Rebel with some metal parts I managed to pick up. He and I are drawn to the gunmetal ones. (I haven't done anything with the cameo. I was hoping it would have inspired me a bit more than it has. Not sure what I'll do with it.) I got a deal buying so many of them, and not sure what I'll do with the extras here, but i enjoy finding little things and making pains from them.

A photo with a better background....

For me, there is nothing in this world that holds the same fascinating appeal as watching the backside of well kilted man...

Those are cool. I followed the development of the tartan with interest, though I didn't jump in and buy any. I'm still not sure what I think of the tartan itself, aesthetically, but I like the concept and these pins work well with it.

I also have to agree that the gunmetal finish works best. It seems to fit the "feel" of the tartan. The silver one is a strong second place though. As for the cameo...I think it would work well on a ladies skirt, but I don't see it as a good kilt pin for a man. It is pretty interesting though.

Where did you locate these? And does your source have other unique designs available?

I got these from someone posting on etsy, (which has some very cool stuff) after discovering a different piece I'd made into a pin and bought from Hobby Lobby had been discontinued. I'd swear the piece I already had was used to make the mold for these though, so I was somewhat pleased, however they are hollow so I had to do a workaround and fill them to be sure they wouldn't somehow get dented or flattened.

Yeah the cameo....I suppose I still might do something with it if I can find a nice metal frame for it.

If I had a kilt in this tartan, I'd go with the cameo.
Robert (Ancienne Alliance) has one (or two) as a kilt pin and I really like it, but I can't find one....

The artist has reworked the basic octopus pin into something a little more godly...

I'd be glad to purchase one from you for my own Cthulhu kilt... I'm drawn to the gold one.

PM me if you wish to let go of one.

The middle one looks good... A green wash over the gold maybe?
Note to self: Must remember the pleaty bit goes at the back...

Mostly I just wander and anything I find that I think might look nice or fun, I turn into a pin. Here's some of the other things I have done so far.

A few of these have never even been worn, like the black and gold glass snake, but just called to me when I found it.

The Irish coin on the far right didn't photograph well next to everything else, but it's a nice little piece, part of a matching set for Mickey and Celt_Gravity Rebel as a sort of father and son thing for them.
