Road-kill river otter skin ready for the sporran-maker
The fresh road-killed river otter skin has been prepared. I will add prosthetic eyes and skull, and then it will be ready for the sporran-maker.

She's lovely. Sad that her life was cut short, but good to know that she will hold a place of honor for years to come.

McFarkus, the otter has to visit with its brethern in the libray for a while. They all get along so well!
Also, I have to order the eyes, and build a prosthetic skull (plasticized paper mache) first.
In my mind I am building a sporran that I think will better accomodate the operational mechanics of the "face" type of sporran. Once my brain thinks it is done, I will have to make a prototype. If the prototype performs, then I either need to work with a sporran maker, or do it myself.
I am not set up for leatherwork; however, I have a professional in mind that probably would be willing to work with me on it.

Amen! What a gift this is, making extraordinarily good use of a part of an animal that otherwise would find little use beyond ashes-to-ashes; that in itself no small wonder.
