Nice work, LOVE the old style 'puffed' leather tassels!
A few questions for you;
What type of fur is that-curly sheep?
Did you braid your own cord for the tassels, it's wonderfully done?
What are the overall dimensions?
The fur is goat fur, I think, I got the piece on eBay pretty cheap. I used a trick I found here on the forum about giving it a bath in water and hair conditioner, it worked out pretty well.
The sporran is about 12" long and about 9" wide at the widest part, and the gusset is 2". It turned out bigger than I thought I planned for, but there is plenty of room inside. It would be good for a big guy (I'm 5'6").
I really like the concho and stud decoration that the cords go through. It is amazing how putting a few simple items together can make the final product look so finished. Very nice work.
With as large as it is, do you have problems with it swaying? The dee rings on the back look pretty close together compared to the overall width and size.
Thanks! I have to give my wife credit for the concho idea, I was kind of stuck once I had the top part done and I noticed a lot of plain space staring at me. I was really happy with the way it turned out with the conchos.
I tried it on an I don't notice a lot of swing, just kind of a slight bounce form hitting my legs when I walk. I am not sure it would be as noticeable on a bigger guy, I am on the short side at 5'6".
