    Sporran and Belt Pouch

My latest project has been to make a Sporran and Belt Pouch for a friend here in Germany. He wanted a special design related to the branch of the Army he served in on active duty.

    Here is the combo:

He is of stocky build and wanted something large enough to get his hands into. I modified the standard design I have been using just for him. In the next picture you can see the two side by side. The one with the silver lion is the standard.

His is about an inch wider at the top and about an inch shorter. The gussett provides over 3 inches of opening width. I don't think he will have any difficulty finding things at the bottom! And I think the proportions will suit him better than a standard sporran.

I will be going up to his part of Germany on Wednesday and will deliver them to him. Normally I let my clients show the pictures, but I don't think he is an active member so I will take the liberty of showing them myself. I'm pleased with the way both turned out.

Very nice. I like the weave on the edge.

I also like the weave. I am toying with trying to make some stuff for myself. I have particular needs and don't think I can afford custom work. Thanks for the inspiration!

Wow! I have one Hay sporran, and it was the best investment I have made so far, I think. It's lovely and works well with every kilt I own. Your friend will be pleased. Those will give him years of service.
