Sporran Cantel measurements needed
I'm looking to make my own Cantel for a dress sporran and I nee all dimmensions. If it is at all possible to superimpose the dimmensions over the top of a pic of a finished dress sporran with a cantel?
Im trying to get rough measurements and construction.
I work in a machine shop and the material and shape shouldn't be too difficult to overcome, however I don't know about sizes at this point.
Many thanks in advance.

Yes indeed it is an L&M Sealskin, yet another benefit of living in Canada.

Do you think that a cantel with a 7" arc would look too big? compared to your 6" arc ?
I have available to me a 7" disc in Stainless with an outside lip that would do the trick.

That I think would depend on the size of the guy wearing it, a larger sporran should look fine on a larger guy.

If I read the history of sporrans correctly, there is no one standard either for cantel size or shape. If it is functional and looks good, it is correct.

This makes me feel better about the 6" leather cantle(ala Mr. Kinney) that I am working on for Scooby; I thought this was small, but appropriate for the size of the piece of fur I had to work with and the nine year old lap it will sit in.
