    X Kilt #3

    Greetings All,

Another last Thursday of the month finds me once again struggling to finish an XKilt for young Scooby to wear to the NorCal Kilt Night tomorrow. After his weathered saffron was well underway, he informed me that he really wanted a blue one.

Dutifully, dad found a piece of lovely blue denim just big enough for a kilt for the lad hiding in the stacks. I tried to find the camera to take pics of the madness, but it seems to be hiding from me. Hopefully someone will get pics at the event tomorrow. This one is supposed to get pockets too, but that will have to wait for another day.

    mostly done

I got as far as I could without the victim for final adjustment.

I will sew the buckle onto the right hip when I pick Scooby up tonight. As expected, no pockets yet.

    Excellent

Seems I'm not the only one with a denim X-kilt. Good job.

Hey, it looks good! I like the contrasting stitching, I've never had the guts to try that!

Some of mine wanders a bit. I used my old Singer for most of it, but I borrowed a newer Singer for the bar tacking and a few other things and it has pressure foot issues. You NorCal Rabble can see it tonight, and we'll get pics of the boy up over the weekend.

Finally got a camera, the boy and the kilt in the same place:

    and the obligatory pleat shot:

He had to have the sword and the tree in the picture.

My Black X Kilt is done but for fastenings, I hope to wear it for Friday night BrewGrass at Devil's Canyon. I might also have a new experimental sporran that night.

    Pics when I can.
