    Bad links for search results

I've just had a strange thing happen while using the search function. Searched for several terms -- example "shepherd's plaid" -- and got list of results, but when I click on a thread title I get 500 Internal Server Error page. If I remove the "?highlight=shepherd's+plaid" from the URL, then the thread loads up correctly.

Not every search term bounces like this, but if the search result URL includes the "highlight=" it seems to trigger the 500 Internal Server Error. I don't know why some search results include the highlight function and others don't.

Anyway, I found the work-around but thought I would point out the issue to those who could fix it.

OK, sydnie, I'll dig into this and see if I can find an answer for you.

Re: Bad links for search results

A possible clue: I thought perhaps it was due to one-word vs. two-word searches, but that didn't make any difference.

What did make a difference was whether or not the search term contained an apostrophe. "Piper's plaid" triggered the error, while "pipers plaid" did not.

That's the only variation I tested, so (as often is the case LOL) I could be wrong.

Yep sydnie, you got it. The problem is the apostrophe. Web addresses don't like apostrophes.

    We are working on it.
