Hamish's Avatar Video Clip: Sweeping the pleats
Hamish

Always one to do what I am told, or politely asked to do, I THINK I now have managed to produce, direct and star in a short video clip on the subject of "Sweeping the Pleats"!

I have now made, I think, six attempts at getting this achieved, and I am not entirely satisfied...

Well, as the pleats point to the right, its a good idea to get into the right hand side of the car, so you're moving left into the seat. In britian, that makes you the driver, in the US, you'l have to settle with being the passenger.

Seriously though when I was in my PC, four of had to get into my (very small) citroen AX, basicly, we got in, lifted our arses up and swept the pleats forward, nice and smooth (but it looked, and was, awkward).

It's a fact that these things come to mind as soon as you wear a kilt and are trying to sit down !
Brilliant demonstration.

I forgot to post a few months ago about how helpful this video is, but I remembered tonight upon returning from a party where I did a lot of sittin' down and gettin' up. I think I've mastered the one-handed sweep-and-tuck, and even just the one-handed sweep-with-no-tuck 'cause the other hand has a plate of food in it [no tuck necessary because of the narrower aprons on my X-Kilt].

Excellent video Hamish. I am only sorry I didn't see it ten years ago when I first started wearing a kilt. It would have prevented an embarrassing moment,...OK several moments (though now in retrospect,...I am sure my awkwardness at sitting did give an entertaining moment or two to those who were polite enough not to laugh, but were unable to hide the smirks completely.)
