How Can I edit My Profile Data?

As new members become more comfortable here at X Marks and longer-term members change contact data, they are often confused as to how to edit the data the forum has on file for them.

Looking up at the darker blue NavBar, just above the forum advertisements at the top of each page, click on the User CP menu option. This will take you to your User Control Panel.

In the left-hand column, click on the Edit Profile menu option and you will see a page with all of the Public Profile entry fields. If someone clicks on your username in a post and then selects the View Public Profile option, they will see a page with all this data on it.

At the top of the Edit Profile page is a section where you can edit some of the Optional Information fields. The first field is the Custom User Title field, which is one you cannot edit. The next is the Date of Birth entry, which you can choose to make visible or hidden from all except the forum admins. You can also insert your contact information for ICQ, AIM, MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger and Skype.

The next section will allow you to enter some additional details about yourself. Again, these entries are all optional, although we do like for our members to give others a general idea of where they are located.

Once you have edited your profile to your satisfaction, be sure to scroll down and click on Save Changes.
