Glad to hear it.

Actually, you made my day better by reminding me of my own younger years when I did lots of that stuff, too. I really did love running, and my best days would be the Saturdays when I would do a longer run around town.

Good luck on your training. Since you have now joined us here in the "colonies," I sincerely welcome you and wish you and your bride the best.

Please keep us posted on your progress.

Whole body exercise and explosiveness... that's the ticket.

Heave around those bags of chicken feed, Arlen, or go down to the hardware store and buy a 50 lb bag of sand and wrap the dickens out of it with duct tape. Lift that, a lot.

Put that 50 lb bag of whatever on a sled of plywood and drag it all over the football field. Run stadium steps with it.

Make implements and throw with them, throw a LOT.

Look at ebay videos until you're crosseyed. but mostly, I am learning....throw.

throw a LOT, and throw with guys (or gals) who are better than you are.

And for heavens sake, have fun!!!

Thanks, Alan. It's good to feel as supported as this forum makes you. And to not feel like an idiot for making all of my training equipment.

Hopefully I'll be competing in January!
