A big thanks to Alan and Yaish

Okay as the title says I want to formally issue a huge thank you to Alan H. and Yaish, because of your two words of encouragment and your posts on equipment and training I have spent the better part of this weekend putting the fininshing touches on my highland games equipment. I now have a hammer with chain head weights, a 40#weight for distance and over the bar. A breamer and a open stone and should pick up a 25-28#weight this week from a friend who is welding it up for me. The only thing left is a caber and that is in the works. Hopefully Ayin will start training with me and he can post some pictures. Again thank you guys for the help and encouragement.

Quite often you hear someone say something along the lines of "If I can help even just one person, it will have been worth it..."

That's just how I feel right now. Az Scot, I'm really glad you're getting into our sport and I hope you find as much fun, competition, and camaraderie as I have.

BTW, I'll be in Prescott next weekend. Are you planning on competing?
.. the kilt had concealed a blaster strapped to one thigh and a knife to the other. He was aware of the present gentle customs against personal weapons, but he felt naked without them. Such customs were nonsense anyhow, foolishment from old women - there was no such thing as "dangerous weapons," only dangerous people.

Unfortunatly no I have to work, and can't afford the time off right now. But I believe I have moved my schedule up a bit and really hope to be ready for Tucson in Nov. I might even try and get to some of the southern Cali. games next year.

I'll be up there in Prescott this weekend Yaish. I will not be competing, but I'll swing by and find you and say hey.

If I enjoy it (and I'm sure I probably will) I would like to enter the novice league at next years Phoenix Highland Games in February. We'll see how it goes from now until then. AZ Scott and I will have to find a good time to regularly meet and start practicing.

    Anyways, I'll see you Saturday.

    Slainte!
