    Brown Watch?

Can anyone tell me the origin of the "Brown Watch" tartan? It seems to be black watch with the blue replaced by brown, but why? Is it indicitive of a different infantry unit?

I believe it's simply a fashion tartan based on the Government Sett.

It's simply a fashion variant of the Black Watch.
