A custom tartan for Shrek III?

I just noticed this story on the BBC News web-site. Lochcarron appear to have come up with a 'Shrek' tartan in browns and greens. It doesn't seem to be listed on the STA website, though.

    Best regards

Interesting that it was Visit Scotland who came up with the idea, I wonder if the Dumfries office is aware of this.

Why not just use the tartan from Shrek's trews? I like it a bit better, although that one's not bad. It would make a nice springtime/summer greatkilt, while the colors from the trews are a bit more "autumny" (is that a word?).

That's almost as amusing as the fact that Disney has registered two McDuck tartans.

Harumph! Neither is the XMarks tartan. They are woefully behind in updating their website.

I had to dig threw old posts to find the MacDuck tartan thread. It seems you cant order it anymore, threw Kilt Store at least. Also theres only 1 listed on there now not 3 like was originally posted. If there were two kilts that I absolutely gotta have, 1st would be Shrek of course, and followed closely by the MacDuck. Where can I get these? I gotta have them!!

I have found that it takes a couple of months for a new tartan to get uploaded into the STA ferret. So, it may be a while before you can see the shrek tartan via the ferret.

The xmarksthescot.com tartan is loaded, I just looked at it last week. I don't know why anyone might not get it; but I did not search for the Xmarks, I was looking via the blue filter and it was listed.

Back on topic, I do like the earthtones of the shrek.

That looks familiar ... oh, yeah - double the green stripe and it's the Sackett tartan! (also woven by Locharron)
Didn't realize we were related to ogres ...
I am easily moved for sympathy for dogs, far more so than for humans, because dogs do not understand. There is no way to explain that you will return, that the vet will make it all better, that they cannot go shooting today because that is not what today is about. They cannot work out that their misery is finite and will some time end, and so their misery is magnified.
