my mates at the company I work for know that I wear kilts when not at work.
One told me he saw or thought he saw a emt tartan kilt with a star of life on the bottom right corner of the front apron. has anyone here herad or seen anything like that?

Freedom Kilts will do custom apron embroidery for you - they might have a digitized Star of Life...

Don't know of an actual EMS tartan.

Those who work the medic tent at the Stone Mountain (GA) Highland Games have for years called themselves "Clan MacMedic" and have even adopted their own "MacMedic" tartan -- it's an equal check of red and white.

(Think about the pattern of the red and white diced hose you typically see -- the Rob Roy tartan with black changed to white, in other words).

The pattern/material might be available. I'd ask the Stone Mountain (GA) organizers. They may be able to get you in contact with either their meds or the supplier of their tartans.
At worst, Matt (Barb, Kathy, or one of out other kilt makers) could arrange a custom run for a kilt. Whoever makes the kilt could probably arrange the custom order.
Any custom embroiderer should be able to stitch the logo for you (a standard most do for local EMTs ar hospitals). OR, you could get a patch and add it yourself.

MacMedic! No wonder I couldn't re-find it looking for "first aid." D'oh!

I'm entering my last year of Nursing School, and want to get a kilt in this tartan to wear in the class picture... I'll check with the Stone Mountain organizers to see where they get it. Thanks, gents.

Do I recall my history correctly...reading that the first MacMedic "kilt" was actually a tablecloth - the kind common in mom & pop Italian restaurants?

Good to hear its been upgraded into and "official" tartan.

Gotta be an EMT type kilt pin somewhere....??
