    Help identifying tartan please

Hi all, I was hoping somebody might be able to help or point me in the right direction of identifying the tartan of a couple of kilts I have. I have trawled through the House of Tartan tartan finder but it looks like there are thousands and I don't even know where to begin! Both kilts are made by Hector Russell.

Any help would be massively appreciated!

    munchiez firstly
    from Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Secondly, it appears those are kilted skirts not kilts, the Red one is Royal Stewart here is a picture of the Royal Stewart Tartan

The Green one looks like Hunting Stewart here is a picture of it

Ditto what McMurdo says. Royal Stewart is the red one. The green is Hunting Stewart. And those are skirts. :-)

Thanks for the welcome and quick replies, you've really helped

I feel a little stupid asking but are kilted skirts for women rather than men?

    Exactly, a kilted skirt is a woman's garment, a kilt is a man's garment.

    Question

@ McMurdo and M.A. C. Newsome: To help those of us who may not know, what exactly from the photos told you they were skirts and not kilts?

I thought they might be skirts from the length, but I wouldn't have been able to make a definate statement to that fact.

    Thanks,

    Kent

Firstly the length is a giveaway, also the straps are the type that are commonly used on a kilted skirt, I've never seen a kilt with straps like that, but every kilted skirt I've ever seen from a shop like Hector Russell has those straps. Thirdly I have a kilt from Hector Russell and can say with certainty that the straps from one of their kilts are thicker than these.

What are the colours in that hunting Stewart? Ancient? The light blue throws me.
