    Hunter Clan

Here is a quote directly from my Mother:

"There is a Hunter clan tartan but it is Irish as was my first ancestor. Love Mom."

Does anyone have a picture or own a hunter tartan? I just thought it was interesting since everything I've ever been told has pointed to a French/Scottish ancestory.

    Respectfully,

They both look great...I'm a bit confused as I've also checked http://houseoftartan.com/house/tfinder.htm and there are four tartans listed there...I guess I have a bit of research to do.

    Thanks for your help

There are several variants on the Hunter Tartan. The main Hunter tartan is the same as Galbraith, Russell, and Mitchel. Both Phil and I have pictures with up with us wearing the Galbraith ancient which would be the same as ancient Hunter.

Of course it wouldn't be Irish, since there are no Irish Clan tartans....
